Description

Why participate in the AES LSF (French Sign Language, FSL)?

Because one day in the street, in an airport, in the hospital, at the university at work ... we can meet a deaf person. What satisfaction for these people to be able to be understood and for us to know another language and to communicate.

French Sign Language is the sign language used by the deaf in France and by some of the deaf in Switzerland. The FSL is a language in its own right and is one of the pillars of the Deaf identity of the Deaf culture.

The FSL is signed by around 169,000 people around the world, including around 100,000 in France (2014).

It is part of the options at the BAC in some French high schools.

Hands are not the only ones to express an action, an emotion. The face and the body participate. A bit like in theater!
